G.] [Revivification of Catalysts Used in Benzine Synthesis.] German Patent 749,391. Feb. 17, 1942; appl. C 57,121 (Cl. 12 6-1.03). TOM Reel 177, frames 1,655-1658: Auszüge deut. Patent-Ammeldungen. Vol. 6, p. 30: Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1. chap. 43, 1948, p. 105. Catalyst that have lost their operating efficiency are 1st revivified by extraction with benzine or other suitable solvent and then, after another operating period, by treatment at an increased temperature (about 200°) with H2, this rotation being repeated until the catalyst is exhausted. Several extractions may alternate with operating periods until further extractions are not worth while, then rotation of H2 treatments with extractions may be used. This rotation method is preferred to the combination of the 2 kinds of treatment in that the valuable paraffin deposited on the catalyst can be saved, the life of the catalyst is further prolonged, and the quality of the hydrocarbon products is improved. Gives definitions of what differentiates revivification and regeneration. |
