2159. ------. [MATTOX, W. J.] (Standard Oil Development Co.). [Fluidized Catalysts for the Synthesis of Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.] French Patent 963,758, July 20, 1950; appl. filed Mar. 23, 1948; in United States, June 12, 1947. Chem. Zentralb., 1950, II, p. 2271.

Catalysts consist of the known metals of the Fe group in inert carrier materials. The finest catalyst particles of a size <20μ occurring in the usual production of catalysts and in use in the process are separated from the catalyst materials and converted into a coarse-grained product through special treatment by pressing and agglomeration. If desired, the essentially carbonaceous product is first subjected to an oxidizing heat treatment and thereafter to reduction.
