1764. JANNEK, J. (I. G. Farbenindustrie A. G.). Purifying Gases, United States Patent 1,631,823, June 7, 1927; appl. filed June 8, 1925, Serial No. 35,781, in Germany June 16, 1924. Chem. Abs., vol. 21, 1927, p. 2517.

To remove Fe carbonyl vapors from water gas or other gases, the gases are passed over active absorbing material such as active C or SiO2 gel, and the latter is acted on with a substance such as O2, Cl, HCl or phosgene chemically reacting on Fe carbonyl until the absorbing mass is substantially saturated with the reaction product. The mass is then regenerated, for example, by leaching with dilute acids or H2O and drying. JASCO, INC. See abs. 2702.

JASION, L. Z. See abs. 2205.
