Abstract
A method is suggested to produce methane by conversion of carbon monoxide and hydrogen at elevated temperature in the presence of nickel- and cobalt-based catalyst supported on carbon. In order to improve the selectivity and conversion, the catalyst is used which contains filamentous carbon as the support. The catalyst composition is as follows (wt. %):
Nickel or cobalt 2-9
Filamentous carbon up to 100
The process is carried out at 260-290°С.
