Return to Russian/Soviet Patent Table of Contents A Catalyst For Methane Production From Carbon Oxides And Hydrogen And A Method For Its Preparation
Abstract A catalyst is suggested for the production of methane from carbon oxides and hydrogen, containing oxides of nickel, calcium and aluminium. To increase the catalyst activity in the temperature interval of 260-650°C and improve its thermal stability, zirconium dioxide is added to the catalyst having the following composition (wt.%):
The catalyst is prepared by co-precipitation of nickel, zirconium and aluminum nitrates solution by sodium carbonate. The formed precipitate is separated, dried, calcined and extruded (shaped). In order to increase the catalyst activity in the temperature interval of 260-650°C and improve its thermal stability, the co-precipitation is carried out in the presence dispersed calcium aluminate having a particle size less than 40-50 μm. The extrudate is calcined at 850-950°C for 10 hr. |
