Return to Russian/Soviet Patent Table of Contents A Method To Produce Aldehydes By Oxo Synthesis
Abstract A method is suggested to produce aldehydes by oxo synthesis at elevated temperature in the presence of cobalt carbonyl catalysts. For simplicity, the equilibrium concentrations of cobalt carbonyls are used and the process is carried out in the presence of circulating suspended metallic cobalt. Operation pressure is 200 atmospheres, temperature is 180°C, the content of carbon monoxide in synthesis gas is equal to 40%. Th feed stream consists of propane-propylene fraction (80% propylene), butyl alcohols are used as a solvent. The content of metallic cobalt in the liquid product equals 2%. Feed rate of propane-propylene mixture is 120 cm3/h, solvent feed rate of – 140 L/h. Volume of reaction columns (towers) is 250 L. |
