Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid hydrocarbon useful as a gasoline fraction, by contacting a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide with a catalyst composition composed of manganese oxide, an alkali metal, sulfur, ruthenium and crystalline zeolite.

CONSTITUTION: A liquid hydrocarbon, especially a gasoline fraction can be produced by contacting (A) a catalyst composition composed of manganese oxide, an alkali metal, sulfur, ruthenium and crystalline zeolite with (B) a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The reaction is carried out preferably under 0-100 kg/cm2 gauge pressure at 100-500oC, an H2/CO molar ratio of 0.1-10 and a superficial gas velocity of 100-20,000 hr-1 in terms of normal pressure volume of the supplied synthetic gas.
