Return to Japanese Patent Table of Contents Preparation Of Mixed Aromatic Hydrocarbon From Synthetic Gas Abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons having the same boiling range as gasoline, with good yield and high selectivity, by synthesizing methyl ether from synthetic gas and bringing it in contact with a specified crystalline metal silicate catalyst. CONSTITUTION: Used as catalyst is a crystalline silicate of formula I [where R is at least one monovalent or divalent cation; n is valency of R; M is at least one trivalent transition metal ion and/or aluminum ion; y >= 12; a >= 0; b >= 0; c >= 0; (a+b+c = 1; a+b > 0)] or formula II [where a >= 0; b >= 0; (a+b = 1; a+b =0 )]. Dimethyl ether is synthesized by bringing synthetic gas in contact with a catalyst compsn. consisting of catalyst for methanol synthesis acid type alcohol dehydration catalyst at 230-400oC under pressure of 20 kg/cm2 gauge or higher and then dimethyl ether-containing reaction product is brought in contact with the above catalyst at 300-600oC under pressure of 0-50 kg/cm2 gauge. |
