Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a gasoline fraction having a high octane number in high yield, by bringing a mixed gas of CO and H2 into contact with a catalyst composition consisting of a mixture of iron (compound) supported on a carrier containing manganese oxide, etc. with crystal zeolite. CONSTITUTION: A mixed gas of CO and H2 is catalytically reacted in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a mixture of iron (compound) in an amount of usually 0.1-40 wt% expressed in terms of iron supported on a carrier containing (A) manganese oxide and/or vanadium oxide with (B) usually 5-95 wt% crystal zeolite usually at 150-450oC temperature under 5-200 kg/cm2 pressure and about 100-10,000 hr-1 superficial velocity on the gas basis to give a gasoline fraction having a high octane number. |
