Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a wax mainly comprising a 20C or higher hydrocarbon compound at a high productivity (at high activity and selectivity).

CONSTITUTION: This wax is produced by subjecting a supercritical fluid comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide and a hydrocarbon compound to Fischer- Tropsch synthesis at 180-250^oC in the presence of a supported catalyst comprising 100 pts.weight support and 25-45 pts.weight. metallic cobalt particles having particle sizes of 100-800 Angstrom and dispersed in the support in a concentration of 1.0-30 particles based on a sectional area of 1x10⁵ nm².
