ABSTRACT:

A series of Co and Ni promoted 8% Mo/Al sub 2 O sub 3 catalysts was evaluated for HDS, hydrogenation and HDN of model compounds in a high pressure reactor. At low promoter level, the Co-containing catalyst was better for HDS, but at high levels, the Ni catalyst was superior for hydrogenation and HDN. Pressures of He or H sub 2 up to 70 atm had no effect on effective (pore) diffusivities of aromatic compounds in activated alumina supports. (ERA citation 08:003929)
