By indirect coal liquefaction, the authors mean coal gasification to a synthesis gas which in turn is converted to liquid fuels. The meeting was divided into four sections: gas processing research; oxygenated fuels/fuel additives; advanced Fischer-Tropsch synthesis; and alternative fuels - process support and engineering evaluation.
