TITLE: Research Guidance Studies to Assess Gasoline from Coal by Methanol-to-Gasoline and Sasol-Type Fischer--Tropsch Technologies. Monthly Report, November 1977. AUTHOR: M. Schreiner. INST. AUTHOR: Mobil Research and Development Corp., Princeton, N.J. SPONSOR: Department of Energy. LANGUAGE: English PUB. TYPE: Technical Report PUB. COUNTRY: United States SOURCE: Department of Energy [DE], Dec 77, 10p. ABSTRACT: The results of an economic comparative evaluation of the methanol-to-gasoline and Fischer-Tropsch syntheses are reported. It was concluded that the Mobil methanol conversion technology is superior to the F-T technology. The thermal energy loss converting the methanol to gasoline is not excessive. The Mobil fluid-bed process is somewhat better than its fixed-bed process. The results of the evaluations are tabulated. (ERA citation 03:023300) CONTRACT NUMBER: EF-77-C-01-2447 |
