TITLE: Chemistry and Morphology of Coal Liquefaction. Annual Report, October 1, 1981-September 30, 1982. AUTHOR: H. Heinemann. INST. AUTHOR: California Univ., Berkeley. Lawrence Berkeley Lab. ABSTRACT: Experiments are reported on the hydrogenation, hydrogenolysis and alkylation of coal and coal liquids, usually with catalysts such as transition metals and alkali metal compounds. One experiment involved electron microscopy as graphite was reacted with water vapor of hydrogen or mixtures of these. Other experiments involved Fischer-Tropsch synthesis with iron catalysts on different supports and the product distribution. Finally, the deactivation of coal conversion catalysts, such as vanadyl naphthenate was studied. (ERA citation 08:008971) REPORT NUMBER: LBL-15095 CONTRACT NUMBER: AC03-76SF00098 |
