ABSTRACT:

The overall objective of this project is to develop a more sulfur- resistant catalyst for indirect liquefaction of coal. During this quarter the Fe80B20 metallic glass was evaluated in the cryomilled condition. The surface area of the glass was increased from 0.02 to about 1 m(sup 2)/g.  This increase allowed measurable activities for the 50mg samples used in the catalytic measurements. Results of gas chromatograph analyses of the Fischer-Tropsch reaction products are also reported. 4 tabs. (ERA citation14:007539)
