Gases, such as H₂ and CO, which slowly react in simple mixture are separated by a diffusion partition, which may be formed of catalytically metallized asbestos, and the gases diffuse into this partition, and the product formed, for example, Me OH, emerges from the partition under the diffusion pressure.
