Alcohols and fatty acids are produced from high-molecular hydrocarbons by passing oxidizing gases or air through a series of reaction vessels containing the hydrocarbons. Paraffin gatsch from the catalytic hydrocarbon synthesis from CO and H₂ are suitable raw materials. Addition to German Patent Appl. H 145,293 (abs. 1104).
