3800. VAN’T SPIJKER, P HART, M. AND WEEDA, K. A. (N. V. de Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappiji) [Organic Compounds from Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.] Netherlands Patent 65,130, Feb. 15, 1950. Chem. Abs., vol. 44, 1950, p. 4229.

In the synthesis of O-containing compounds by the Oxo process, better results are obtained by preheating the olefins, together with gas containing CO and H2 and Co catalyst, at 80°-130°. The reaction proceeds with greater rapidity than when the olefins and the CO+H2 are preheated separately, so that the velocity of the gas stream through the reaction tower may be increased.
