PATENT 3776. UNION CHIMIQUE BELGE. [Catalytic Reactions] French Patent 672,898, Apr. 10, 1929. Chem. Abs., vol. 24, 1930, p. 2255. In exothermic catalytic synthesis in the gaseous state, a regulated part of the gases to be treated is sent into the catalyst chamber without being submitted to an exchange of temperature with the products of reaction, a rational cooling of the reaction mass taking place. The gases to be treated are used to produce, by convection from metallic surfaces buried in the contact mass, an absorption of heat corresponding to the normal temperature most favorable to the reaction.
