PATENT 3756. TROĬTSKIĬ, K. V. [Catalyst for Carbon Monoxide Hydrogen Synthesis.] Russian Patent 54,392, Jan. 31, 1939; appl. filed July 27, p. 3740. For the synthesis of hydrocarbons by the Fischer-Tropsch process, the catalysts are made as follows; Metallic Fe or magnetite is melted with addition of activating substances, such as K2O or Al2O3, in a stream of O2. Just before setting a powder of the same composition is added to melt. Co or Ni catalysts can be produced in the same way. Such catalyst have a high porosity.
