In the production of hydrocarbons from CO and H2 the gas mixture is contacted with a catalyst consisting of sintered Fe pyrites reduced at 175°-345° under raised pressure. The catalyst may advantageously be impregnated with a solution of an activating substance, such as Na2CO3, K2CO3, KCl, and dried at 115° before being charged into the reactor. |
