3483. ----- [STANDARD OIL CO.]  Control of Carbon in Hydrocarbon Synthesis.  British Patent 647,079, 1950.  Fuel Abs., vol. 9, No. 3, 1951, abs. 1781.

Gaseous mixture containing CO, CO₂, and H₂ is contacted with a fluidized bed of powdered Fe catalyst in a reaction zone at synthesis temperatures and under superatmospheric pressure.  The H₂ partial pressure is at least 100 p.s.i. in the reaction zone and that of the CO₂ at least 125 p.s.i.  A hydrocarbon product and oxygenated hydrocarbons are recovered from the reaction zone.
