AcOH is made catalytically from CO  and H₂.  The catalysts are BeO with or without Cu, Co, Ni, or the chromates of Ru, Ni, Co, Cu, Fe, Mo, Mn, Ti, Al, or MG.  Any number of the above may be used together.
