H₂SO₄ is caused to act on marble, the CO₂ is reduced  to CO in the presence of wood charcoal and Fe turnings, and the CO is hydrogenated under pressure and  at high temperature to form MeOH.  An example of a fuel contains MeOH, 94.53%; synthetic camphor, 0.01%; acetone, 0.165%; Et₂, 1%; turpentine oil, 0.01%; and C₆H₆ 4.285%.
