3229. ----- [SAUTER, E][Catalyst Tube For Reaction Furnaces.]  German Patent 748,373, Nov. 1, 1944;  appl. filed Apr. 12, 1942 (Cl. 12 g-4.02).  FIAT Reel J-5, frames 542-544; PB 70,145.

Catalyst tube for catalytic furnaces, in which the reagents are admitted into the catalyst mass through a perforated tube, particularly in hydrocarbon synthesis from CO and H2, is made to extend only part way, probably 1/10 to 1/2, through the catalyst bed.  The flow resistance through the entrance tube is regulated by the size and gradation of the cross section of the tube or by packing with granular material of different sizes.  Diagram.
