3221. ----- [SABATIER, P. ]  [Process of Manufacturing a Mixture of Gases Containing Hydrogen and Methane.]  French Patent 355,900, July 5, 1905.  Chem. Abs., vol. 1, 1907, p. 1645.

Gas containing H₂ and CO or a mixture of CO₂, CH₄, and H₂ is passed over reduced Ni, Fe or Co heated to 300°-500°.  Some C deposits on the metal, and steam is passed over it while heated to 400°-500°, CO₂, CH₄, and H₂ being produced with regeneration of metals.
