PATENTS 3068.----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.] [Process for Producing Highly Active Catalysts for the Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide From the Waste Products of Alumina Production.] German Patent Appl. R 109,145, R 548, filed Jan. 16, 1941 (Cl. IV d-12 o) FIAT Reel k-20, frames 278-285; PB 70,211; TOM Reel 177, frames 1,714-1,721; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1 chap. 53, 1948, p. 134. Suspension of Luxmasse in H2O is first acidified with HNO3 to a pH of about 506, Cu(NO3)2 is added and the mixture heated to boiling. There is then added a boiling solution of KOH to which kieselguhr has been added. The mixture is then filtered, shaped, dried, and reduced for 45 min. at 300° with an H2-N2 mixture. After or during the alkali treatment, Cu, Ca, or Fe salts may be added. According to 1 example, the reduced catalyst is put on stream at 240°, and 15 atm., the gas consisting of 1 vol. fresh water gas and 2 vol. recycled residual gas. The yield of liquid products amounts to 125 gm, per m.3 of gas and consists of 27.7% benzine b. up to 200°, 22.5% diesel oil b. 200°-320°, 24.3% soft paraffin b. 320°, 460°. 25.5% hard paraffin b. > 460°. The synthesis products were highly unsaturated—the benzine equals 58.9 vol. % olefins and the diesel oil 47.4 vol. 5 The soft paraffin showed an I number of 15.7 the hard paraffin 2.5. The paraffin was pure white. Gives other examples. |
