3037. ----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.]  [Process for Obtaining High-Antiknock Motor Fuel.]  German Patent Appl. R 105,355, R 455, filed June 2, 1939 (Cl. 23 b-104).  TOM Reel 177, frames 1,581-1,583; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1, chap. 28, 1948, p. 70.

High-antiknock motor fuel is obtained from a chiefly aliphatic hydrocarbon mixture, particularly that fraction of the primary product obtained by synthesis from CO and H2 b. 200°-330°, by cracking in the vapor phase under mild conditions, that is at 500°-550°, and a pressure of 4-20 kg. per cm.2 , whereby a gasoline is obtained at a yield of 65-75% with sp. gr. at 15° C. of 0.720-0.726 and containing 70-80% of olefins and aromatics and possessing an octane No. at 200° end point of 59-65.  By further treating this cracking product at a somewhat lower temperature, 250°-400°, In presence of a bleaching earth, the octane No. can be raised to 78.
