      3018.  ------.  [RUHRCHEMIE A. G.]  [Process for Dechlorinating the Chlorine Derivatives of High-Molecular Paraffin Hydrocarbons.]  German Patent Appl. --, R 701, filed Jan. 25, 1944.  TOM Reel 37, bag 3,451, item 36, 44pp.

In dechlorinating the Cl derivatives of high-molecular paraffin hydrocarbons with 15 C atoms or more in the molecule at elevated temperature in the presence of SiO2 or Al2O3 catalysts, the Cl compounds are passed at temperatures > their polymerization temperature and > their cracking temperature, or at 300° -400°, and at a space-time throughput of 0.2-0.4 (0.2-0.4 l. of liquid Cl derivatives per l. of catalyst per hr.) over the catalysis, which have been previously heated to or > their sintering temperature.  To lower the sintering temperature of the catalysts before the heating, they are treated with a small amount of an alkali, which can be removed after heating by washing.
