Factors specified for the production of city gas simultaneously with benzine synthesis are: A synthesis gas with the lowest possible N₂ content, preferbally made by O₂ pressure gasification: the synthesis converter so heavily loaded that per unit volume of synthesis gas the yield of liquid synthesis products remains below the highest possible yield, the amount of CH₄ greatly increases, and the resulting end gas becomes suitable for use as city gas. The process can slo be carried out under gas recycle and under superatmospheric pressure.
