            In the catalytic conversion of mixtures of CO and H₂ under ordinary or slightly raised pressure, the proportion of hydr9ocarbons having higher boiling point or solid hydrocarbons is increased by using lower temperatures (165°-170°) than those used in the production of hydrocarbons of lower boiling point.  The catalyst may be Co, activated by addition of Th and Mg.
