            In the catalytic conversion of mixtures of CO and H2 under ordinary or slightly raised pressure, the proportion of hydr9ocarbons having higher boiling point or solid hydrocarbons is increased by using lower temperatures (165°-170°) than those used in the production of hydrocarbons of lower boiling point.  The catalyst may be Co, activated by addition of Th and Mg.
