2890.----- [RUHRCHEMIE A. G.]  [Combining City-Gas Production and Gasoline Synthesis.]  German Patent Appl. R 111,103.  R 594. filed Sept. 23, 1941 (Cl. IV d-12 o).  TOM Reel 36, bag 3,454,  item 36, 6 pp.; Meyer Transl.  PC—S—II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 2, chap. 79, 1948, p. 10.

City-gas production is combined with gasoline synthesis by CO hydrogenation using Fe catalysts.  The catalyst load is greater than in the normal synthesis operation.  Temperature and pressure are increased.  Chiefly, a once-through operation is used.  The synthesis gas contains more H2 in proportion to the CO than is usually used with Fe catalysts in the synthesis of gasoline.  Tabulated data are presented for 4 different types of operation showing the factors that contribute to the production of a better residual gas for city gas use without seriously interfering with the normal yield of liquid products.
