2859. -----[Ruhrchemie A.G.] [Catalyst for Synthesis of Gasoline From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.] Italian Patent 349,478, Mar. 31, 1937.  Chem Zentralb., 1938, II, p.3774.

Basic Mg carbonate is used as the carrier for the known Co-Th-Mg catalysts.  The catalysts are highly active and can be easily regenerated.  After extraction of the paraffin they are washed out with cold H2O and CO2, whereby all the Mg goes into solution as Mg(CO3)2. From this the basic salt is again precipitated by heating the solution and flowing steam there-through.  The other constituents are dissolved in HNO3 and precipitated with NaOH, and the hot precipitate is again mixed with the precipitated basic Mg carbonate.
