PATENTS 2847. ----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.] Antidetonating Fuels. British Patent 469,044, July 19, 1937. Chem. Abs., vol. 32, 1938, p. 763. In producing the fuels by the thermal treatment of a mixture of hydrocarbons poor in H, the latter comprise hydrocarbons produced by the hydrogenation of CO at normal or slightly increased pressures. The former may comprise tar, coals, liquid phase hydrogenation products. emulsions of pit coals or brown coals. and pitch coals. H2 and other gases may be present during the treatment, which is conducted at 300°-650°. In examples, (1) hydrocarbons produced in the hydrogenation of oxides of C are fractionated to remove products that b. <110° and are then mixed with 0.2 their weight of tar, the mixture, being heated to 430°-450° under 60 atm. The products are distilled, and the residues of high boiling point are re-treated with further CO hydrogenation products. (2) Coal extract 10 and benzine obtained by hydrogenation of CO 90 parts are similarly treated at 450°-500° in presence of MoO3. |
