PATENTS 2813. ----- [ROELEN, O., AND FEISST, W.] (Ruhrchemie A. G.). [Regenerating Contact Catalysts.] German Patent 705,311, Apr. 24, 1941; appl. R 95,984, filed Apr. 2, 1936 (Cl. 12 o-1.03). FIAT Reel AA 88, frames 3,473-3,474; PB 70,273, Chem Zentralb., 1941, II, p. 839; Chem. Abs., vol. 36, 1942, p. 2100. When the contact catalysts used in CO+H reactions cannot be regenerated by ordinary means, they are dissolved in an acid. The solution is filtered to remove the carrier, and then by partial precipitation with, for example, Na2CO3. the contaminants are removed. After filtering, the catalyzing substance is precipitated, care being taken that the carrier is added toward the end, lest the carrier, usually SiO2 be attacked by the alkali. |
