2809. -----  [ROELEN, O., AND FEISST, W.]  (Ruhrchemie A. G.).    Catalysts for Benzine Synthesis  from Water Gas.  Australian Patent 103,630, May 5, 1938; appl. filed Apr. 1, 1937, Chem. Zentralb., 1938, II, p. 4345.

Care must be taken in making up the catalyst that the kieselguhr base contain no harmful impurity in solution as in working up used catalysts.  Therefore, these should be made insoluble first by igniting.  Furthermore, no harmful material should be allowed to be adsorbed from the catalyst solution on to the carrier base.  One must therefore use catalyst solutions that do not contain such impurities or must remove them from the solution before depositing the catalyst constituents upon the carrier, for example, by precipitating with alkali and separating the precipitate.
