            Reaction takes place under pressure, at least 20 atm., at raised temperature 50°-200° in presence of a solvent.

By passing C2H4 over a Co-Th catalyst at 90°-100° and 100 atm, pressure 40% propionaldehyde 40%, di-ethylketone 20% and higher boiling aldehydes and ketones and oxygenated compounds are obtained.
