Powdered catalysts used in the cracking, aromatization of vaporizable hydrocarbons, such as those from the synthesis of CO and H2, are regenerated by the oxidation of the carbonaceous deposits thereon with utilization of the exothermic heat therefrom for supplying the endothermic heat of cracking of reforming.
