2696. PINES, H. (Universal Oil Products Co.). Alkylation of Isoparaffins. United States Patent 2,594,343, Apr. 29, 1952. Chem. Abs., vol. 47, 1953, p. 1179.

Describes an improved method for the production of saturated branched-chain hydrocarbons by the alkylation of isoparaffins with olefins. The olefin is treated under isomerizing conditions to convert a substantial portion into an olefin having a more centrally located double bond and then alkylating the isoparaffin with a HF catalyst.
