2678. PIER, M., RUMPF, W., AND SCHAPPERT, H. (I. G. Farbenindustrie A. G.). [Liquid Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.] German Patent 703,101, Jan. 30, 1941; appl. I 53,873, filed Dec. 14, 1935 (Cl. 12 o-1.03). FIAT Reel AA 88, frames 3,544-3,547. PB 70,723; Chem. Abs., vol. 36, 1942, p. 251.

Excess exothermic heat is removed as usual by indirect heat exchange of the reacting material with steam. In this case the steam is passed into the cooling chamber in a wet state saturated with H2O up to 60% and 80% of its capacity. It is advantageous to maintain the wet steam under such pressure that the saturation temperature lies only slightly below the reaction temperature.
