Method of production is employed that involves passing H2 2 and CO 1 part by vol. over a skeleton alloy catalyst containing Ni together with 5-20% as much Co, at a temperature in the range of 360-500 F. and under a pressure of from about atmospheric pressure to about 20 atm. pressure, segregating normally liquid hydrocarbons, b. about 400 F., and further purifying them, as by use of NaOH solution and clay.
