Mixture of C oxides, and H₂ is subjected, at a high pressure and a temperature of 300° or higher, to the action of a mixed catalyzer formed of a very intimate mixture of alkali metal salts of metal oxides of an acid nature such as ZnO and K chromate, and the gases produced are cooled under pressure to condense CO₂ and MeOH and the remaining gases are re-treated.
