Reduction of CO to MeOH by H2 or H2+steam is catalyzed
by ZnO prepared by decomposing an organic salt of Zn of which the melting point
is < the decomposing point, (Zn(OAc)2), preferably in an inert
atomosphere at > 1 atm.
