An improved composition comprises a H₂SO₄-treated kerosine, sp. gr. 0.775-0.825, b. 400° -505° F., and 0.1-10% by weight (based on total composition) of a mixture of oxygenated organic compounds produced as a still-bottoms product remaining after removing the major portion of low-boiling alcoholic components by distillation in the 2-stage process for producing oxo alcohols. Gives a typical component of oxo alcoholic bottoms and formulations.
