Fatty acids are obtained by oxidizing fractions, b. 250°-420°, of the products derived from the hydrogenation of CO. The mixture is divided into fractions with b. p. intervals of 40°-60° and individually oxidized at increasing temperatures of 100°-120°. See also German Patent 729,962 (abs. 2126).
