2052. ------. [LINCKH, E.] (W. E. Currie). Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen. United States Patent 2,234,568, Mar. 11, 1941; appl. filed Jan. 18, 1937, Serial No. 121,238; in Germany, Jan. 21, 1936; 5 claims (Cl. 260-449). Chem. Abs., vol. 35, 1941, p. 3799.

Catalytic reactions of CO and H2 are effected by passing the gases in a suitable mixture through a reaction chamber heated to reaction temperature, in which substantially all the catalytic material forms a part of the walls of the chamber, and by introducing into the chamber at intervals 0.1-1 cc. per 1. of reaction space of a volatile metal carbonyl such as that of Fe, which will decompose at the reaction temperature, when necessary, as indicated by a drop in the normal output of hydrocarbons.
