Catalyst for effecting reactions between H2 and CO is formed by melting together an oxide of a metal, such as Ti, Cr, Mn, Zn or Mo, and a readily reducible oxide of a good heat-conducting metal, such as Cu oxide, to produce a uniform mixture of the oxides, followed by cooling, granulating, and reducing the granulated material with H2 at an elevated temperature to form a catalytic oxide intimately associated with a good heat-conducting metal. |
