2002. ------. [LARSON, A. T.] (E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.). Catalyst for Methanol Production. United States Patent 1,844,857, Feb. 9, 1932; appl. filed May 14, 1925. Chem. Abs., vol. 26, 1932, p. 1946.

Catalyst for effecting reactions between H2 and CO is formed by melting together an oxide of a metal, such as Ti, Cr, Mn, Zn or Mo, and a readily reducible oxide of a good heat-conducting metal, such as Cu oxide, to produce a uniform mixture of the oxides, followed by cooling, granulating, and reducing the granulated material with H2 at an elevated temperature to form a catalytic oxide intimately associated with a good heat-conducting metal.
