1902. ------. [KÖLBEL, H.] (Steinkohlen-Bergwerk "Rheinpreussen"). [Motor-Fuel Oil.] German Patent 724,054, Aug. 25, 1942; appl. St. 56,117, filed Apr. 23, 1937 (Cl. 12 r-1.05). Chem. Abs., vol. 37, 1943, p. 5573.

Mixtures of tar oils or tar fractions, preferably with aliphatic hydrocarbons, b. 160°-360°, are extracted with AcOH at normal temperature. Two layers are formed, the upper of which contains the refined motor fuel. Further refining is performed by washing with H2O or lye or bleaching with "Tonsil." This process is advantageous for mixing tar oils with hydrocarbons obtained in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The fuels are intended for use in tractors and diesel motors.
