In a process similar to that described in United
States Patent 2,548,727 (abs. 1854) Ni (OH)2 is treated with CO in
the presence of 2.5-25 mole % (based on Ni (OH)2) of cyanide ion
obtained from Na, K, Ca, Ba, or Sr cyanides.
