Fe catalyst is used consisting of Fe oxide in combination with Na- or
K-silicates, such as, 86.5% Fe2O3, 13.5% Na2O,
3.25% SiO2. As activating agent Al2O3 or alkali
fluoride is used. The catalyst is reduced with H2 at 482°.
